personal trainer and four in-person interviews, I am positive that hiring Kelvin was the best decision I’ve

I have a multitude of medical issues, including arthritis, fibromyalgia, and sciatica. I also have

thalassemia, a blood disorder that requires me to have monthly blood transfusions for life. The disorder

“Sticking to a plan has shifted things for me permanently.  I not only see the value but I feel the benefit. It’s a relief. Although a drawn out diet with every last calorie accounted for is not sustainable for the rest of my life, I feel an immense sense of peace knowing what I am going to have every single day for every single meal. I don’t stress about what is good vs not. I don’t eat anything outside the plan. Why? Because it is what I paid money for my coach’s time to create. I am going to get the most out of it. I know the foods I am eating are precisely for my progress and it won’t happen unless I stay on the plan. On a deeper level, since my understanding of nutrition for fitness results has increased, whenever I decide to take a rest from a meal plan, I won’t be as hard on myself as I once was. My life, my body, my genetics, my hormones and my metabolism. With my nutrition plan, I feel a sense of control and a sense of understanding what food actually does to your body composition vs. your weight. How sodium, water, alcohol, and the menstrual cycle can affect your weight. Weight is just a number for tracking responses but is not a representation of you or your body because in reality, you are the representation of your body, how you carry yourself, how you cope with injuries, what you do for your body so it can function to the best of its ability. That is what matters. Not a stupid number. Before, I used the scale to define my worth. A freaking plastic platform that sits on the floor all day. Now, I use it to keep myself on track as my body starts to lean out. It’s just a tool. It’s not everything. I’m a living, breathing human being. 

With my workout schedule, I feel a sense of structure and satisfaction. I see progress more clearly because I have a set routine of the same exercise, repping till failure and gradually increasing weight as I get stronger. Because I have done pretty much the same exercises since February 6th, I have been able to perfect my form, focus on time-under-tension and I don’t contemplate what to do at the gym. This keeps me on track, in the gym for a reasonable time, and helps me mentally prepare for that day. My workouts are difficult but they are fun. They are fun because I push myself, I see the progress in the mirror, but most importantly I feel it in my body and spirit. I genuinely love fitness. It’s not a chore to be there and that is what has made the training aspect so easy to be disciplined and dedicated to.

To my coach, thank you doesn’t even come close to how appreciative I am of you. You have done so much for me and my life and you are miles and miles away. We haven't even met in person and I feel like I know you so well and on top of that I can trust you. I literally put my diet and fitness in your hands and although there have been times where it feels too hard or the struggle to stay strong hurts too bad, I remember why. I remember what I have done up until this point, I think of that feeling where everything comes together at my first bodybuilding show, and I look forward to the future things I will set my mind to. For me, this bodybuilding training has taught me the true definition of “if you want something, make it happen”. I stay disciplined because my want for success outweighs the temporary frustration and struggle. Coach Kelvin has shown me that. If you are reading this and need a coach. Work with him. Do it.
